In 2022, Golden Bake aimed to reduce the waste produced on-site, decreasing the total residual waste per tonne produced and total food waste per unit of output by 2% year on year and 11% respectively, compared to their baseline year. To achieve this success, the business increased segregation, completed a waste audit, and the member noted that an increase in tonnage being offset by production line improvements contributed to the decrease in food waste produced. As a result, Golden Bake improved their overall efficiency, reduced their carbon footprint, and strengthened their commitment to sustainable business practices across their production.
