In 1704 the company founder, Michael Heaney, returned to Ireland after ten years working in the London meat market. With the experience he gained in London, Michael opened his own beef retail and catering business one year later.
The business grew rapidly over the next ten years. Michael’s son and in turn his son, got involved in the business as it grew, passing their knowledge and skill from one generation to the next.
The Heaney family are producing the same high quality meat which has become synonymous with the Heaney name.
Brothers Shayne and Kenneth Heaney now run the business from their purpose built state-of-the-art factory in Galway.
