Ireland is the only EU producer of organic salmon. All salmon from Ireland is certified to the European Organic Standard in addition to local organic certification standards.

Irish organic salmon is farmed mainly on the west coast of Ireland. Strong currents and tides mean that salmon swim the
equivalent of 13,000km over a lifespan of about 18 months. Their environment has a ratio of 99% water to 1% fish. This produces salmon low in fat with firm, succulent flesh.

Feed is also an important requirement for organic certification. Irish organic salmon are fed a diet of natural ingredients that are sustainably sourced and free from GMOs.
